Hopefully the Mountain House constituency is strong enough now that we wouldn't let Delta divert funds away from the campus again.
Last time around Tracy and Mountain House were fighting over the campus location, and since no campus existed it was easy for the board to take the money out when their local constituencies wanted the money spent near them.
My guess is that Tracy and Mountain House will be on the same page now, and the voices of the 3,000 students will make a difference. There is always some money from State, Federal and Private Interests, but we may have to wait till the next Delta College bond measure before we see a number as high as 50 million sent our way.
As I see it that last bond gave out an IOU that still needs to be fulfilled as soon as funds are available.
I drove by the campus yesterday, and it does look really nice. With the good location and strong local intrest it is hard to imagine that it wouldn't be a thriving campus!
