Another bump and round of thanks. As far as I'm concerned it's a one-issue vote for me. Just get the campus built here, and we'll have a more well-rounded vote next time. Bob

i'd like to ask you guys again...
Is it really that big of a possibility that the campus project may get turned down? even when they have started again (finally) recently. I see so much work going on every day that It bothers me that someone would want to salvage the building process. Isn't it too late?
What about those articles from Delta that was posted here recently that states it's a go?
This truly has been a roller coaster ride for me. |
It's coming up again because there are several new board members up for election this year. A good number on them are running on the one issue of moving the campus to Tracy. The existing board has ratcheted up development so that come November 4th it would become even more difficult for the new board to change course.
Paul outlined why changing the location would be exceedingly difficult:

You have to admit that current production on the campus facilities leads one to believe something is wrong. They are dragging their feet out there and soon the rains will come and production will be delayed for weather. Not sure what's going on, but something doesn't look right. Even now there is little going on out there. Costs will certainly go up from here, giving those opposed even more fuel. As a MH resident, it's very frustrating to see this. Clearly the new Delta campus would open avenues for businesses considering Mountain House, but sitting on the sidelines without the necessary customer base.

Not a suprise, given how they handled the bond money. But Paul's letter to the Tracy Press outlines why the new board members would be absolutely foolish to revisit the notion of a Tracy Campus.

the local section of thrusday's stockton record had an article about the trustees wanting to revisit the decision of MH. I'm tired and having a hard time finding it on-line, maybe somebody could post it?
anyway, I'm thinking that when the first public meeting of the new board takes place it would be good for MH residents to be there to remind them that we want it.

Yes, ma'am,I had got home from work about midnight and I need to unwind for a bit before going night-night.
It's cool though, because I'm more of a nightowl person than a morning person. I really don't do mornings well at all.
I consider myself our block's unofficial Neighborhood Watch for the middle of the night.

thanks. I really shouldn't post after a 19 hour day.
Now that I'm more awake, let me clarify.
I think that at the new board's first offical meeting, it would be nice if we could get a large group of us to attend to show our support for the campus staying here. I'm a true believer in prescence.

Wow, the new trustees are still pushing for a Tracy campus? Just goes to show how irresponsible the new pro-Tracy members of the board are. They're willing to waste money by trying to pull out of MH and into Tracy. Makes me wonder what other funds they're going to waste in the future.

I agree, Jodi. Lets do it again. A greater turn-out would send a better message though. Come-on Mountain House!
When is their first meeting?

I can't make the 18th but if I know in advance that the 2nd is a good day for us to go, then I'll reschedule an appointment for that day to be available.

It looks like the new board will be seated the first meeting after Dec. 2nd I haven't been able to find a calendar for those meetings. The present calendar ends on 12/2.
According to the latest article in the Record (11/19/08 local section), the new board (sp. Mary Ann Cox) very much has MH campus on their mind.....in a negative way.
