Who are the most pro-Mountain House candidates for each area?
Any help would be appreciated.

Here's what the discussion has been so far:
http://mhvillages.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=5495
I read whatever articles that talk about them and decide from that. If they are against MH, they're out. If they are from Tracy, they're out as well.

I'm just avoiding anybody running in Tracy.  Just about guaranteed their only issue will be to relocate the Mountain House campus to Tracy.
Opinions and information provided by me are mine alone and do not necessarily represent the board or districts point of view.

Well, the Tracy Press just made it very easy to see who to vote for and who not to vote for:

For me it seems very clear:

No

Mary Ann Cox

Carolyn Gamino

Steve Castellanos

Motecozuma Sanchez

C. Jennet Stebbins

Teresa Brown

“Longtime community college consultant and small businesswoman Mary Ann Cox, local school employee Carolyn Gamino, Stockton architect Steve Castellanos, recent Delta graduate and warehouseman Motecozuma Sanchez, businesswoman C. Jennet Stebbins and higher education expert Teresa Brown each said they want to halt all construction along the busy interstate and move it to Tracy.”

Yes

David Rishwain

Greg McCreary

Al Lennox

James Grunsky

Anthony Bugarin

Attorney David Rishwain countered proponents of the Tracy site, arguing that at this point, it’s too expensive to walk away from Mountain House.

He touted the location as an ideal spot for the college to develop departments and curriculum to teach students about “green” technology.

It would be tough to find a spot better than “at the cusp of the Altamont Pass,” in part to teach students about alternative energy, said Rishwain, who reported raising $50,170 by the end of September for his campaign, making him one of the most expensive candidates at the table tonight.

Grunsky agreed with Rishwain that the school should complete the campus in Mountain House, but added that down the road, Tracy could get one of its own, too. “

Twelve-year incumbent and retired insurance agent Greg McCreary of Tracy also said that construction at the Mountain House campus is beyond the point of return and to pull out could risk lawsuit and even more money lost to an already lengthy history of admitted mismanagement.

Veteran rights activist and ambulance company owner Lennox told the public that the college should have invested in a Tracy campus years ago, but that it’s best to finish what it started before branching out to another city.

Sixteen-year trustee Anthony Bugarin said he stands by his original vote to build in Mountain House. When he saw the land at 11th Street and Chrisman Road in Tracy, he said what he saw was “prime agricultural land,” not the grounds of a future college.

It seems to me that the Delta College is progressing forward each and every day. Is it still really possible to halt it now and start over again in Tracy?

I have a feeling our new board will be working with or against the electees in Tracy in the future.   I am trying to learn all I can about Tracy's candidates that I don't already have a relationship with of one sort or the other.  What is that saying?  Keep your friends close and enemies closer?  Not that I percieve them as enemies...  I just think it's a good idea to know those that may pop up and influence our lives.   Such as construction right next to our town for example.  Tracy can put whatever they like right next to us.  Just a hunch but I see Tracy in our future.

FYI - This is from the Tracy Press article

'Grunsky, who shares political consultants with Rishwain and fellow candidate Al Lennox, raised most of his money from friends, relatives, real estate agents and other businessmen. He didn't go so far as to say that the school should complete the campus in Mountain House but said, "I think we're going to have to take a real hard look at both projects, and I don't see why we couldn't leave the portables at Mountain House and move to Tracy." '

Since we are voting for four board members I eliminated him from my 'yes' list. :)

I finally read the Press and this article made me think that these people all need to get over the campus being here and shut up about it. I don't know what "mistakes" or "shadiness" went into it coming here, if any, but what's done is done, the money's been spent and they need to start figuring out how to make it work. don't these people know how to make lemonade? If I were a Tracy resident, I'd be a lot more miffed at any home town candidate that wanted to re-open this issue and spend more money out of pissiness then one that would do his best to make it a sucess since it is just down the road.
But I appreciate all the input from this forum on these people. Got my sample ballot and made my marks right away.

i'd like to ask you guys again...

Is it really that big of a possibility that the campus project may get turned down? even when they have started again (finally) recently. I see so much work going on every day that It bothers me that someone would want to salvage the building process. Isn't it too late?

What about those articles from Delta that was posted here recently that states it's a go?
This truly has been a roller coaster ride for me.

I like the fact that Rishwain put a campaign sign right on the property!   That definitely got my vote - someone who has been there and seen it apparently!
