Question on homes with casitas.  I found out that some have separate mailboxes from the main house but most share the same mailbox.  I called the post office and they said that only some homes have this even if the units are legal.  I am wondering if we have any recourse in changing this matter -- would love it if 2 addresses can have 2 mailboxes.   Anyone have thoughts on this?

You might be able to get an A/B on the address. You probably won't be able to get a unique street number though. If it were me, I'd start with the CSD.

As far as I know all the casita's have unique addresses.
Sounds like some din't get mail boxes to go along with them.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Opinions and information provided by me are mine alone and do not necessarily represent the board or districts point of view.

All the casitas on my street have individual addresses and mailboxes.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

Thanks for the responses!  This property has 2 addresses but oddly, was assigned one mailbox.  From my discussion with the Post Office, they told me that some properties got 2 mailboxes while most did not.  I asked if there was anything that could be done to work out 2 mailboxes, but they said "the builders wanted it to be a shared box" (the units are legal).  So just curious if anyone ran into this issue before and if they were at all successful at getting a separate box.

Unfortunately, no luck for me as of now. Maybe if enough people asked the post office, they could relent?

Good idea, which post office are you going to note the compliant? I will go there as well.
