Native San Diegan here...most of my pals there thought it was pretty funny, albeit disappointing. Hey, stuff happens. The best fireworks shows ever are at Jack Murphy Stadium (sorry, can't call it Quallcom) in SD and put on by a local radio station.

Thank you. I actually did read that article last night. It was just from July 3rd though. I really dont think a lot of people feel they are above the law here. Maybe some that feel that way are more vocal here on this site. I moved here for the safeness of Mtn. House and I feel like most people are very nice here and want the same thing, a nice community. Thanks. I get that now just because of the post. I don't think a lot of people read that though or even if I had I dont think its something that would have stood out amongst everything there is to read in there. That is something that should be posted here for the newbies or included in the 4th of July signs. I talked to a few people at the activities yesterday that had bought fireworks in Tracy and not one person sounded like they knew they were illegal. I just don't think most people would buy them if they knew. I wouldn't. Not sure if you read the tracy press online, but here is an article on illegal fireworks found in a home in Tracy just last week...and later on a paragraph about even the (un)safe and (in)sane ones being illegal in Mountain House...
 
Of course, why should we expect people to obey the law in regards to fireworks of any kind here. I don't think most people would stop from buying them even if they knew it were illegal. They feel they are above the law in this regard.

It's part of the county health and safety code. Since we're unincorporated, we fall under this restriction.

Love the park idea. Fine people that do it in the neighborhoods, but allow people to do it in a safe controlled space. Might even be able to draw a vendor to sell to people... Clean up would be an issue.

What is funny is I called San Joaquin County last year to find out the official verdict on that and they couldn't tell me because they were confused... I was transferred to 3 different people in different departments and they had to call me back. The guy I spoke with called back and told me he couldn't find anything that states its illegal. people across the street from us just put on the BEST SHOW EVER!!!!!!! 5 hours of AMAZEBALLS action!! thankfully we dont have anything around us to catch on fire but from here we saw 6 different groups of mortars. The fire dept rolled through...made sure everything was cool.....and off they went.
